SLC Magazine has travelled the length and breadth of the UK to find those sports and leisure caterers taking food and beverage to new heights and we are very proud to announce that our Executive Chef, Darren Fairminer has made the final for Chef of the Year. This comes after a very successful 12 months for the catering team at Newbury Racecourse who have recently won Best Fast Food Experience and the Judges Catering Excellence Award at the 2016 Racecourse Catering Awards as well the award for Best New Catering Concept the year prior.
Darren has worked at Newbury for over 30 years striving to improve catering excellence and has seen many major milestones at the racecourse including the transition of moving the catering operation in house which has proved extremely successful. The results of the Sports and Leisure Catering Awards will be announced on Tuesday 12 September at a dazzling awards ceremony hosted by popular television presenter and personality Mark Durden-Smith. We’re all routing for Darren and will update you with the results!
